Stephen Bulger Gallery is pleased to announce the record release of Shift, an album by Sanaz Mazinani, Mani Mazinani, and Michael Snow. The closing reception of “Light Times”, our third solo exhibition of work by Sanaz Mazinani, will be held in conjunction with this event.
Shift broadcasts a sound composition that thinks about place and spatial scale. The audio is built from original recordings of lakeside waves, a rolling thunderstorm, and sound recordings from outside the Earth’s atmosphere such as radiation emissions of the planets and stars. Synthesizer music, Doppler recording techniques, and stereo mixing complete the composition.
