Canadian born, Montreal based Guillaume Simoneau began his independent studies in photography after completing a diploma in applied science. Today his practice is informed by both fine arts and editorial assignments. His body of work Love and War was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and published by Dewi Lewis Publishing (UK, 2013) The publication was shortlisted for both First Book Award and European Publishers Award for Photography. His series Experimental Lake was published by MACK (UK, 2017) and exhibited at Stephen Bulger Gallery the same year. In 2019, his body of work Murder premiered as a major solo exhibition at Rencontres d'Arles. The exhibition, organised by Momenta, subsequently travelled to Tokyo, Antwerp, Toronto, Berlin and Switzerland, and is scheduled for both Quebec City and Seoul in 2022. Murder was published in August 2019 and is Simoneau’s second consecutive monograph with MACK.
